Recorded live in the studio, for the most part, with minimal overdubs.
At the bands insistence, 50 friends and admirers were invited into the studio to witness the performances, with the proviso that they " stand around naked, blindfolded, like lawn furniture made of flesh, and not move" as the band played, watching them. The typically weird-ass and elliptical electronic interludes were recorded by the band at home, and are meant to serve as bookmarks along the way.
